The mid-term assessment schedule has been reviewed and published. Every class from Nursery to Class 5 has a fixed sequence, and the daily routine in the week before it has been adjusted to allow quiet revision in class.
What has changed this term
Following feedback from families, assessments are now spread across morning sessions only. Afternoons stay as normal teaching time so that children are not carrying unfinished work home.
- Assessments take place in the morning session.
- Afternoon classes run as usual.
- All revision is completed in class; no separate preparation at home is required.
- Results are shared with families at the Parents' Progress Meeting.
For families
The most useful thing you can do is keep the week calm and ordinary: normal bedtimes, a good breakfast, and no extra drilling at home. Children who arrive rested do better than children who arrive over-prepared.
Reading your child's results
Assessment here is a teaching tool, not a ranking. When we hand over results we will talk through what your child can do well, what is next, and what we are doing about it. If anything is unclear, ask. That conversation is part of the process.
